In 2006, Faerie Camp Destiny will be undertaking completion of our building plans under our Phase I Act 250 permit. So far, we have improved roads, built roads and parking, laid out and graded a meadow area as well as an area for our septic system. The well was drilled in December, 2005.
Destiny has chosen to build with as much renewable resources as possible. With that in mind we'll use lumber from our own land to build a timber frame lodge which will have strawbale walls. We also plan on building three small cabins as well as several wall tents or tent platforms. This project will need many people to get involved to get things done by the end of the gathering season in Oct 2006.
Work weekends and work during scheduled gatherings will be scheduled through-out the warm, post mud season. We'll also hold workshops on timber framing at the Mill in White River Junction VT.
We'll be looking for folks to get involved in a number of areas: landscaping, carpentry, framing the walls and plastering. But we'll also need folks to help with preparing meals and keeping the kitchen tidy.
