Description
Onion Naan
Instructions
Sift first three ingredients in bowl, mix in yogurt and 1/2 cup of cheese. Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic - about 20 mins. Form into a ball and place in a large bowl. cover with plastic - let rest for 2 hours. Melt butter in skillet - add onions. Saute until golden brown - 25 mins. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside and let cool. Turn dough onto floured surface. Cut dough ball into smaller rounds so you can get 8 inch rounds once they are rolled out. If cooking over direct flame, cook one side for a few minutes until dough bubbles, turn then add onion and some more cheese - use a large spoon to smoosh in. If cooking on a pan, cook one side with the onion added face down, pat the naan down. Once you flip to cook the other side add more cheese.
Notes
This ideally are cooked over an open flame like the big side burner but they can be pan cooked in the big frying pan over a fire.
