THE THREE LITTLE PIGS GATHERING
Friday, 28 July through Sunday, 6 August
We're building a house of STRAW this summer (if weather permits the excavator to finish) and we're building a house for canvas. Lammas this year will focus energy on improving the sites for tenters and commuters. We'll test ways to make level tent sites, improve and beautiful the new area, and prepare for building in the meadow this fall. The sample timber-frame project, a decorative gate could be installed.
Seeking kweens to "run the gathering" for those who work on the above projects. Seek kitchen kweens, cooks, helper cooks, dishwashers, water runners, and lamplighters. Jade is facilitating this Saturday's supper.
Theater and performance for Lammas this year will be non-programmed music-making, extemporaneous performance, poetry, and, perhaps, acting out of fairy tales that deal with home and hearth.
FRIDAY NIGHTS ARE POTLUCK. The midweek gathering will be small and require everyone to participate in running the gathering.
The Sacred Shawl will be making its way to us for this gathering. The Cernous Shawl was crochted in 1979 by Dennis Melba'son, a member of LASSIS, Louisanna Sissies in Struggle and given the Radical Faerie in 1980 at the Second National Radical Faerie gathering in Colorado. Since that time the Shawl has been ornamented by offerings of ribbons, objects and reminders of the gatherings it has touched.
Hopefully, we'll be able to work the Shawl into our regular Lammas tradition of performance and ritual.
